So aaages ago I talked about doing this and today I finally got off my lazy butt and did it! After much angsting over screencap choice and many attempts at humorosity, and with apologies to Jane Austen, I present:

Welcome to our world
First it's important to know a little bit about the alternate universe in which this tale takes place. In this version of the Avatarverse, the war never took place. To this day, the four nations of the world intermingle and intermarry without conflict. Aang was indeed frozen in the iceberg for a hundred years until some Water Tribe peasants whose names were not Katara and Sokka dug him out, but the world fortunately didn't miss him much due to the peace and harmony it experienced during his century-long absence. ... Just go with it. ;D
The other thing to know about this world is that Everyone is Gay. At least all of the main characters are. In this Avatarverse, this is not a cause for surprise or even much interest - it just is.
Cast of Characters
Now it's time to meet the characters!

Katara is the bright, witty second daughter of the Bennet family, a family on the lower end of the aristocratic totem pole of Ba Sing Se, where our story takes place. Katara means well, but she is prone to judging newcomers based on first impressions, sometimes a little more harshly than she ought. Katara is also a waterbender of moderate skill.

Sokka is Katara's easy-going older brother. He's a sweetheart with a sarcastic side and a tendency to see only the good side of people.

The youngest daughter of the Bennet clan, Ty Lee is cheery, high-flying, and flirtatious, with something of a frivolous side. Her greatest interests are in partying and gymnastics, two activities that she excells at.

One of the richest eligible young ladies in Ba Sing Se, Miss Darcy is proud, abrasive, and quite beautiful, as well as a talented earthbender in spite of her blindness. Her best friend is the Avatar himself, Aang Bingley.

A wealthy young man who recently moved to an estate near the Bennets', Aang is also the noted Avatar, master of all elements. He's charming, good-natured, and unfailingly kind, which makes his close BFF-hood with the stand-offish Toph all the more peculiar.

Toph Darcy's sweetheart of a younger brother, Zuko posesses a modest talent for firebending and a mysterious past involving a shadowy femme fatale... whom we might know?

Azula Wickham is the charming and handsome captain of a regiment of Fire Nation soldiers stationed in the Bennets' neighborhood. We'll find out more about her later...
And now, Our Story Begins...
Chapter One: the Partay!
It's a balmy evening in Ba Sing Se, and the people of Meryton (a moderately wealthy neighborhood of Ba Sing Se) are holding a dance party. We find our heroine, Miss Katara Bennet, sitting moping in the corner, wishing someone would ask her to dance.

Katara's brother Sokka flops down next to her on the bench and is like "It's okay BB, I don't have anyone to dance with either."

But what's this? Suddenly Mr. Bingley, honored guest of the party, steps up and asks Sokka to dance!

And Sokka's all "Lemme think about that for a sec-- YES. GOD YES."

Katara's happy for her bro, but she still wishes some hot chick would come along and sweep her off her feet.

A few minutes later, Aang comes back to the sidelines to visit his friend Toph and he's like "Dude this party RAWKS, MAN. Why don't you come dance??"

And Katara's nearby and she's all eavesdropping on them and trying to emit as many DANCE WITH MEEEEE vibes as possible.

And Toph's like "This party blows. The people are lower-class, the music sucks, and the food is all this lame Water Tribe crap. Sea prunes? WTF man?"

And Aang's like "Weeeell I spy a hot chick over there you could dance with!" and Katara's like SCORE HE'S TALKING ABOUT MEEEE. IF I WASN'T GAY, I'D TOTALLY HIT THAT.

And Toph's like "How can I put this nicely... she's tolerable, but not awesome enough to tempt me."

And Aang's like "God you are such a party-pooper sometimes," and he goes off to dances with Sokka for like the tenth time.

Katara has overheard all of this, and outwardly she keeps her composure.

But inwardly she's like TOLERABLE? ARE YOU SHITTING ME? I'LL GIVE YOU TOLERABLE, YOU BITCHFACE YOU!

So at the end of the party the only happy people are Aang, who had a rockin' time...

...and Sokka, who's all like "ZOMG my boyfriend is soooo cute! <333"

Chapter Two: the Illness
So later on, Aang invites Sokka to dinner at his awesomely massive estate house.

Toph's there too, looking sour as a pickled prune. (Probably because she isn't getting any.)

Unfortunately Sokka falls deathly ill at Aang's house!

And Katara is so worried about him that she walks all the way to Aang's house in the rain.

She turns up at the house looking dramatically windswept and Aang's mean sisters (who remain nameless because the author is a lazy bum) make fun of Katara.

But Toph's like "...interesting," and you can totally tell that she's starting to find Katara hot, in spite of herself.

So Katara's nursing Sokka and she's like "Can we get some frozen frogs for this poor boy!"

So Aang's like "I don't suppose they have them at the supermarket?"

Apparently not, so Aang flies off to get Sokka some life-saving frozen frogs.

He comes back just in time to save Sokka. *drama*

And Sokka's like "OMG he's sooooo hot when he's all rescue-ful and awesome and SQUEE!"

And that brings us to the end of today's episode. Stay tuned for Part 2!
