Okay flist, can somebody please explain this to me:
I'm trying to use Google as a rough measuring stick of the current popularity of various anime series, but the number of hits I'm getting doesn't make sense.
I type in "Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol Lilpri" in quotes, and I get 2,080,000 hits. I click to the 10th or 11th page of results, and suddenly the number jumps to 4,410,000.
I type in simply "Lilpri" not in quotes, and I get 735,000 hits.
How is it possible that a six-word search in quotes could get three times more hits than a one-word search without quotes? I DON'T GET YOU, GOOGLE.
